Christophe Buisson Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru 2017
We say best, but best by far! $64.95! $90 elsewhere! For Premier Cru Morgeot!? Christophe Buisson (a Kermit Lynch find) is a winery on a rocket ship to stardom. Best to grab while we have it -- only 10 cases!
It gives me a deeply satisfying pleasure to drink white Burgundy at this level and at this price. It reminds me of the days Stony Hill Chardonnay was $12 on the shelf... Based in Saint Romain, Christophe’s organic Morgeot bottling (fermented entirely in concrete and aged in used barrels) is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser and has considerable power and depth (friendly reminder, this wine is $64.95!!!), redolent of mineral and citrus and stone fruits with lovely balance and texture. A rocking no-brainer for those who love white Burgundy with accessibility! Like we said, only 10 cases...first come, first served…!
