Domaine Egly-Ouriet Brut Rose Grand Cru NV - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The NV Brut Rose Grand Cru is excellent, wafting from the glass with notes of red apples, mandarin and spring flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, pure and precise, with a delicately textural attack, superb concentration and tension at the core and a long, racy finish. This bottle was disgorged in July 2018 after 60 months on the lees.
93 Vinous -
The NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru pulses with real energy. Cranberry, white flowers, chalk and mint give the Rosé an airy brightness, especially in the aromatics, but there is plenty of depth as well. Far from an easygoing wine, Egly's Rosé has the charm to drink well as an aperitif as well as the structure to pair with just about anything at the dinner table. I would give it a few months in bottle, as the wine appears to still be recovering from its recent disgorgement in July, 2019.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Spending 5 years on the lees gives this Rose another level of complexity. We just love the weight, viscosity and complexity here. Wildly floral with blood orange and a hint of red berries this is all about precision and purity with a ton of cleansing acidity to counteract the richness. One of the best from one of the best in Champagne. This just arrived a couple weeks ago and we don't expect it to last long. Super limited!

About the Producer

Domaine Egly-Ouriet Champagne is sensual, unforgettable and highly sought after, cult grower Champagne producer. Egly's practice of harvesting very ripe grapes and aging in barrel for years longer than almost any other Champagne house are some of the practices that set his art apart from the rest. Egly-Ouriet Champagne is age-worthy, sumptuous and at times surreal; these bottles are unquestionably the pinnacle of Pinot Noir-based Champagne.
