Domaine Lecheneaut Nuits St. Georges les Pruliers 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

91-93 Burghound -
An attractively fresh and expressive nose that is overtly spicy speaks of newly turned earth, violet, dark berry and a hint of the sauvage. There is excellent intensity to the detailed and lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that are supported by firm but sleek tannins on the dusty, mouth coating and beautifully balanced finish. This high quality effort is also well-worth considering provided that you have the patience to wait for at least 6 to 8 years first.

An incredible price on a superb parcel of one of the very best vineyards in all of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Pruliers. This wine is just starting to get good but will drink well for decades to come. As Allen Meadows points out: "This high quality effort is also well-worth considering provided that you have the patience to wait for at least 6 to 8 years first." - 91-93 points, Burghound

About the Producer

During the late 1950's, Moreysien de souche Fernand Lecheneaut founded the house in Nuits Saint Georges. The domain contained 6 acres of vineyards, divided among Nuits Saint Georges, Chambolle Musigny, and Morey Saint Denis. Additional vineyards were obtained in Nuits and in Vosne and later in Chambolle and Gevrey and most recently the illustrious Premier Crus of Nuits "Les Pruliers" and Morey "le Clos des Ormes". Organic framing and biodynamic priciples are applied in the vineyard and the winemaking is non-interventional and traditional.
