A new wine in this range, the 2016 Cabernet Franc emerges from three blocks within To Kalon: V, Monastery North and Monastery South. Aromatic, sensual and super-expressive, the 2016 has a lot going on. Cedar, dried flowers, espresso, dried cherry and menthol all grace this compelling, promising wine that shows terrific energy and plenty of persistence.

To Kalon Cab Franc anyone? Not just any part of To Kalon, this is sourced from two blocks in the Monastery Blocks, Mondavi's most prized section of To Kalon. A new wine in the Mondavi stable and man oh man were we impressed by this one! For $42 a bottle this is a tremendous value offering up cassis, sandlewood. black plums, fresh tobacco, espresso bean and grilled Italian herbs. This is absolutely classic and a real gem in the lineup, not to mention a steal for the quality.
About the Producer
