Paul Goerg Brut Millesime Premier Cru 2009 - First Bottle

Reviews

92 James Suckling -
This has a very fresh and pared-back, chalky feel with a dried-lemon and peach-flavored palate, as well as a vibrant, round and quite chalky twist to the finish. Drink now.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
This grower coop in Vertus is one of my favorite under the radar producers in Champagne. We just love the 2009 right now. It shows the warmth and embrace of the very good growing season with all the toasty, brioche-y goodness . Minerals galore in the nose with citrus and butter poached pear. The bubbles and texture here are pure silk with flavors of exotic fruits and a touch of red berries. This bad boy spent a whole 9 years on the lees before release and was dosed with just 5 grams of sugar. This is simply stunning right now and our price is only good until we run out!

About the Producer

Located in Vertus, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, Paul Goerg‘s DNA is chardonnay. Its unique 120 hectares vineyard is indeed almost exclusively planted with this varietal, symbol of finesse and elegance. Champagne Paul Goerg belongs to one of the few winegrower maison in Champagne. It was founded back in 1950 when 8 families of winegrowers from Vertus decided to join forces and to share their vineyard. Today, representatives from families Collard, Faucheret, Férat, Rogué, Grégoire, Doquet, Gallois and Pougeoise still have the same passion for Champagne and are actively present at the company’s board.
