DuMOL Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2016
‘16 in Napa, as I’m sure you savvy folks already know, is an out-and-out rockstar vintage. Like ‘16 Bordeaux, and ‘15 Brunello, it is a vintage to buy all you can of. Only the ultra-hippest of collectors even know that DUMOL’s portfolio, focused on Chardonnay and Pinot mostly, includes a tiny amount of Cabernet, mostly sold to members of its wine club. Well, guess who got a few cases of the powerhouse 2016? YEAH!
$99.95!! Hailing predominantly from Meteor Vineyard in Coombsville and True Dog Knoll in Oakville, this lush, powerful Cabernet will hit ALL of your sweet spots. (Note: Antonio Galloni did not taste this wine, but he did rate the Meteor vineyard designate, which makes up a majority of this blend, 97 points!) DuMol has been on a qualitative tear for years now, and this is a must for hardcore Cab lovers.
For reference, check out other 93 point wines from Wine Spectator's recent publication of "Napa's Stunning 2016s" to get an idea of how amazing this wine is for the price.
