Inky purple in color, this youngest Taylor vintage Port boasts a floral, wonderfully open and appealing bouquet, backed by layers of rich fruit. What makes this wine extra special is the seductive texture—somewhere between creamy and syrupy—and ample length. Hold.

The 2003 Taylor`s has a lovely ripe, primal bouquet of blackberry, raspberry, vanilla and marmalade that shows slightly better delineation than the Fonseca. The palate is medium-bodied with very composed, refined tannins that belie the heat of that summer. There is wonderful focus here and fine tension, the finish offering precise notes of black cherries, mulberry, cloves and white pepper. This is one of the finest Ports of a precocious vintage. Tasted May 2013.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Established in 1692 (not a typo!), Taylor is a BENCHMARK Port -- and we are thrilled to have this gorgeous parcel of 2003 for you today at fine pricing. Perfect provenance, drinking beautifully now and into the 2050's or so.
You always need some great Port around. And what a doozy this is - rich and unctuous, palate-coating but zesty, and just redolent of mulberries, blueberries, crushed flowers, lavender, and toasty licorice and mocha...just insanely good. Despite the incredibly warm summer of 2003, this is very balanced and refined and doesn't overdue the cooked or "pruny" profile. A delight to drink now, especially at this price! Huge scores and love across the board, too --- there won’t be a better Port offering this year!
