Remy Massin Millesime Extra Brut 2008

Proprietary Blends  |  France

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Retail $70, down to $60 and $50 if you buy 6! Incredible! Grab it quick, though! Throw this SUPERB 2008 in a lineup of the "heavy hitters" of Champagne and prepare to be astonished! Your humble scribe thinks this is the finest wine ever produced by this house favorite grower producer. This my friends, is WORLD-CLASS. The planets aligned in 2008 to create one of the most epic Champagne vintages in decades, in my opinion, surpassing the great 2002 vintage, and on par with all-time great vintages like 1990 and 1996.

It’s hard to find this wine much outside of France, where it is one of the top-selling, “insider” bubblies to be had. We got our small allocation and are STOKED to offer it to you today. We literally had to beg and plead for the winery to release this small parcel to us, the last of their stock!

The blend is 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir with a dosage of 4 grams per liter. Brisk apples, lemon creme, candied lemon peel, poached pear with crunchy acidity and glorious chalky minerals. This all SOARS from the glass and then along your palate and lingers for days--- a HUGE, crazy no-brainer in our books -- load up for the holidays --- while it lasts..!

About the Producer

Champagne Remy Massin et fils is the result of a traditional know-how inherited from the last five generations of wine-growers. Since 1865 they have been tending vines in Ville-sur-Arce in the Cote des Bar. Remy Massin was created in 1974 joined by his children Sylvere, who studied viticulture oenology, and Florence, who took charge of the administrative part of the business, the export and the shipment management. While this producer remains under-the-radar in the states, the bistros of Paris have long guzzled this incredible elixir. We at First Bottle are huge fans and you should be too!
