This bottle of the 2009 Brut Grand Cru Mill?sime was disgorged in July 2018 after 96 months on the lees, and it's already showing brilliantly, wafting from the glass with complex aromas of smoky red berries, green apple, oyster shell and English walnuts, with a faint hint of fino sherry on the upper register. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, broad and vinous, with searing concentration, a beautifully refined mousse, brisk acids and a long, indeed seemingly endless, finish. This thrilling vintage Champagne exemplifies the intensity and power without the weight that Egly routinely achieves and testifies to his status as one of the region's very best producers.

A beauty, offering concentrated blackberry tart, candied ginger, almond
biscotti and honeycomb flavors, set in a fine, creamy and elegant package.
Vibrant, citrusy acidity keeps this fresh and focused. A tang of salinity and
warm spice notes echo on the finish. Drink now through 2029.

About the Producer
Domaine Egly-Ouriet Champagne is sensual, unforgettable and highly sought after, cult grower Champagne producer. Egly's practice of harvesting very ripe grapes and aging in barrel for years longer than almost any other Champagne house are some of the practices that set his art apart from the rest. Egly-Ouriet Champagne is age-worthy, sumptuous and at times surreal; these bottles are unquestionably the pinnacle of Pinot Noir-based Champagne.
