Louis Jadot Celebration Beaune 1er Cru 2015 (Magnum 1.5L) - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Decanter -
Open and pleasant nose showing pretty floral and ripe red berry fruit along with spicy oak. The palate is elegant and juicy with red apple, beetroot and dried cranberry flavours, crunchy, ripe tannins and a chalky undertone. Very fine, tasty and well handled.
93+ Vinous` -
The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Celebration is a rich, radiant wine. Sumptuous and expansive on the palate, the 2015 possesses striking inner perfume and fabulous depth. The flavors are dark, bold and incisive in this decidedly potent, somber Beaune 1er Cru from Jadot. Even with all of its natural richness, the 2015 is massively tannic and shut down. I wouldn’t dream of opening a bottle anytime soon. The combination of 19 climats results in a Beaune of unusual complexity and pedigree, but readers will have to be patient. The 2015 was only bottled in December 2017.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
We were one of the very first “online” retailers in the USA to sell this wine back in the day when it was first offered (2009), and we still rock it every year it is made. A terrific Premier Cru bottling that encompasses 17 of the 1ers within Beaune, it was first created in the ‘09 vintage to commemorate the winery’s 150th anniversary and is still made in very good years. No surprise, it is a blockbuster. If you haven’t bought any 2015 red Burgundy, this is one not to miss. If you have already, this can serve as a cellar staple and makes an excellent centerpiece for your own Burgundy-drinking adventures for years to come!

The contrast between the writeups for this wine from Decanter (96) and Vinous (93+) is striking, although both of them rave about it, and rightly so -- you can read them below. We, of course, had to open some to drink ourselves, because...Burgundy! Never miss an opportunity. Our notes: Floral. Beautiful color. Apple, cinnamon, juicy plum, a whiff of oak. Great structure, wonderful density and texture, SUPER-long, complex, finish. We're leaning quite a bit more to the Decanter side of things, although this is clearly a BABY and will improve for many years. Wonderful -- esp. at our PRICE!

First come, first served!

About the Producer

Three decades. That’s the time it took Louis Henry Denis Jadot to found our house, in 1859, and to lay the foundations of a family-owned domaine. He would contribute to the renown of the wines of Burgundy by developing a negociant business focused on selling the wines in Northern European markets. His descendants followed in his footsteps at the head of the family business.
