Chateau Dauzac Margaux 2005 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Wine Enthusiast -
This seems to tread the line between power and great style with ease. While the fruit is concentrated, it is sweet and ripe, balanced with acidity. Very poised, layered with some good firm tannins and a solid core of dry fruits.
92 Wine Spectator -
Has an impressively dark color, with lots of crushed berry, mineral and licorice aromas that follow through to a full body, with velvety tannins and a long finish. Racy and tight, with beautiful tannins. Best after 2012. 9,165 cases made.

About the Producer

Chateau Dauzac, a 5th growth in Margaux, has the privilege of having a one-block 49 hectares vineyard: 45 hectares with the Margaux appellation and 4 hectares with the Haut-Medoc appellation. Located near the Gironde estuary whose influence on the vineyard?s ecosystem is critical, the property is protected from ocean winds thanks to 120 hectares of meadows and forests. This agronomic bubble and unique terroir have made it possible to develop precision farming through plot selection, highlighting the exceptional characteristics of this Grand Cru Classe wine. A producer that is making the best wines in its storied history, this needs to be on your radar if it is not already.
