Domaine William Fevre Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru 2016 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Vinous -
The 2016 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru has a really lovely bouquet with dried pineapple, musk, chalk dust and yellow flower aromas. The palate is well balanced with a smooth entry, nicely pitched acidity with a gorgeous yellow plum, orange rind and light strawberry finish that lingers in the mouth. Excellent.
91 Burghound -
An expressive, and once again mildly exotic, nose is comprised by notes of oyster shell, iodine and strong mineral reduction. The concentrated, mouth coating and serious flavors are at once muscular yet refined, all wrapped in a long, agreeably dry and balanced finish.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
The '16 vintage for Fevre was tiny but produced wines of incredible purity and minerality. We love the Vaulorent this year with it's almost red-fruit character (strawberry pith) and sexy integration of ripe pear and tangy citrus fruits. This is an excellent bottle of wine, only a single case and the best price anywhere (by a long shot!).

About the Producer

1959, the year in which William Fevre declared his first crop, marked the birth of the domain. Descended from a family which had lived in the Chablis region for over 250 years, it was only natural that he set up as a winemaker with 7 hectares of vineyards. Over the years the domain has acquired new vineyards in Chablis, all located in the historic terroirs. William F?vre has become one of the biggest land owners in Chablis with 78 hectares of prestigious vineyards, of which 15.9 are classified as Premiers Crus and 15.2 as Grand Crus.
