Domaine Dujac Vosne Romanee Les Beaumonts 1er Cru 2014 - First Bottle

Reviews

92-94 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2014 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru les Beaux Monts has a very attractive bouquet, pure and sensual with black cherries, boysenberry and a touch of blueberry. Understated but quite compelling. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, silky in texture, beautifully balanced with very well judged acidity with a touch of salinity towards the finish. This is a very well crafted Beaumonts that deserves several years in bottle.
92 Vinous -
Bright medium red. Complex, terroir-driven scents of raspberry, crushed rock, flint and smoke. Concentrated and fairly full, conveying a hint of superripeness to its flavors of berry fruit, minerals and wild herbs. My first sample displayed good energy but a slight dryness on the back end but my second was sweeter and more vibrant, finishing with firm tannins and excellent saline length. My score is for the better bottle.

About the Producer

The domaine was founded in 1967 by Jacques Seysses. The domaine began using organic techniques in one third of their vineyards in 2001 as an experiment to see if it was feasible for them to do so for the entire domaine. It was, and the estate went all organic, including certification, in 2008.
