Fabien Coche Bourgogne Blanc 2016

Chardonnay  |  France

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
No...this is not Coche-Dury (you'd notice a few extra digits in the price if it were), but it used to be. Domaine Fabien Coche was formerly known as Domaine Coche-Bizouard, and until 1940, indeed was one in the same as present-day Coche-Dury. Fabien’s cousin Raphael runs the infamous Coche Dury today. Fabien took over his family domaine from his father in 2005 and renamed the estate Domaine Fabien Coche. If that was not enough, Leon Coche (Fabien’s great grandfather) who started the domaine in the 1920s, also had a granddaughter, Genevieve, who married Guy Roulot, so you can see how this family tree is full of Burgundian superstars.

While this may read as a Bourgogne on the label, don’t be fooled, this is indeed 100% Meursault sourced from 7 different estate owned plots within the village. You will indeed smile from ear to ear as we did when you first put your nose in the glass. This is brought up just like a top tier wine from Meursault with about 10% new French oak for 12 months followed by 6 months in stainless steel before bottling (known as the "Roulot method"). It brims with stony minerals, Meyer lemon zest and is packed with tension and shimmering acidity, rounded with just a kiss of new oak. This is flat out brilliant Chardonnay that you need in your glass NOW!

Today Fabien expertly farms 25 acres in and around Meursault and is quickly gaining notoriety, making some of the best bang-for-your-buck white Burg in the market. We’re thrilled to offer this to you today. $29.95 on the last of our stock!
