Reviews

91 Wine Spectator -
Tasty and just lightly toasted, a juicy white, delivering apricot, pear and mirabelle plum flavors streaming through, lined with a subtle bitter almond thread on the finish. Roussanne, Viognier and Grenache Blanc. Drink now through 2019. 1,000 cases made. ?JM

Ferraton Cotes du Rhone Villages Blanc Laudun 2016

Rhone Blend  |  France
WS91, WA90

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
This estate, purchased in 2006 by the legendary Chapoutier family, is firing on all cylinders! Ferraton and Chapoutier originally partnered up to help Ferraton grow their small family business, but when Samuel Ferraton was in a bad motorcycle accident in the early 2000s, Michel Chapoutier took an active role managing the business. Naturally, a few years later he bought the winery outright. Farmed biodynamically since 2000, Chapoutier has helped fine tune everything from farming to winemaking and has been instrumental in turning Ferraton into a world-class producer.

We were shocked I tell you, SHOCKED upon tasting this --- for $18?! Tangerine, LIME, white stone fruit, and a little of that hard-to-put-your-finger-on almond paste (marzipan?) flavor that adds so much to the character. Just...YUM!! The already legendary 2016 vintage is showing off here yet again...don't miss it! We’ll be knocking this back all summer oh yes! Let’s get to the best part of this...91-POINTER from Wine Spectator...$18! Best Price in the USA! Free shipping on 6 bottles or more as always!

About the Producer

Founded in 1946 by Jean Orens Ferraton, the company began with a tiny parcel of two-thirds of an acre on the hill of Hermitage. Over time the family slowly expanded its holdings into Crozes Hermitage and Saint Joseph which they farm 100% biodynamically since 2000. Around this time a partnership was formed with Michel Chapoutier to help bring the brand to the next level. Today the wines are better than they have ever been.
