Every once in a while, a winery or wine comes along through our tasting gauntlet that is totally, unexpectedly AMAZING. Winemaker/proprietor John Benedetti founded Sante Arcangeli (named after his great-grandfather) after getting hooked on 20-year old Chateauneuf-du-Pape in college. Trust us -- this is FANTASTIC, complex, layered stuff from the Lester Vineyard in Corralitos (Santa Cruz Mountains), which has ideal pinot conditions due to the elevation and maritime influence. This oozes class and breed with a light handed winemaking style that shows off the incredible terroir.
