Favia Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

98 Jeb Dunnuck -
Another thrilling 2015 from winemaker Andy Erickson is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville, which comes from vines not far from the estate. It has classic cool climate notes of blue fruits, violet, chocolate, and green tobacco. These all flow to a deep, concentrated, yet finesse-driven wine that has fine tannins, terrific mid-palate depth, and a huge finish. It shows the classic Coombsville complexity, purity, and freshness, and will keep for 2-3 decades.
96 Vinous -
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville hits the palate with serious density and pure power. All of the natural intensity of Oakville Ranch comes through in the glass. Bold, powerful and sumptuous, Favia's Oakville Cabernet is a typical 2015 that will drink well with minimal cellaring, although it also has plenty of potential to develop in bottle. Blackberry jam, licorice, crème de cassis and licorice add substantial weight and substance on this striking Cabernet Sauvignon.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

Andy Erickson and his amazing wife Annie’s latest masterpiece! The man behind so many world-class, coveted and critically-acclaimed wines (Dalla Valle, Marciano, Screaming Eagle, Ovid, Arietta, and many more…) releases his powerhouse Coombsville Cabernet to us (just a few cases!!) --- grab it while we have it! Sorry we don’t have more!

While we like to pepper offers with our own commentary usually, we cannot find any fault with Jeb Dunnuck’s assessment...so here it is! “Another thrilling 2015 from winemaker Andy Erickson is the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Coombsville, which comes from vines not far from the estate. RIGHT? YES, it is ALL THAT. While it lasts..!

Oh --- side note/pro tip: if you are ever in Napa, GO VISIT Favia and do a tasting at their gorgeous new property in Coombsville. Besides wine, you can sample some of Annie’s killer organic teas. See you there.

About the Producer

Annie and Andy are two of the coolest people we know in the wine biz. Annie, a viticulturist and farmer extraordinare, who cut her teeth tending vine for David Abreu, and Andy, one of the most revered and respected winemakers in the valley today, are the ultimate wine industry power couple. When they decided to lay their down roots in the ancient Caldera that is Coombsville, and build their winery, no expense was spared and what they have created is nothing short of extraordinary.
