Casanova di Neri Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
This edition of Casanova di Neri's celebrated single-vineyard wine opens to a luminous garnet color and exuberant fruit aromas. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova offers a lot to the bouquet, from sweet cherry aromas to savory tones of tobacco and leather. This wine shows a powerful inner motor of flavor concentration and density that propels it forward. All that density and richness wraps thickly over the palate. This is a lasting wine of brawn and muscle.
96 James Suckling -
Lots of spice, balsamic and ripe-fruit character to this one. Walnut undertones. Full to medium body, a compressed structure of ripe tannins and packed-in fruit. Vibrant finish. Best in 2019.
94 Wine Spectator -
Precise balance sets the stage for cherry, black currant, violet and tobacco flavors in this smooth, intense red. The tannins are present yet well-integrated, and this persists with echoes of fruit and tobacco. Reveals an element of spice on the aftertaste. Best from 2020 through 2035.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

You know what’s so cool about this awesome Brunello besides the obvious greatness of this estate and its pedigree (we assume that you are hip to Casanova di Neri)? The lovely, inscrutable, sort of roasted walnut, or walnut meat character that joins effortlessly with the spicy sweet black cherry, black currant fruit. It leaves you, happily, grasping for descriptors, but mostly just savoring the beautiful Brunello goodness!

2012 is an excellent vintage, of course, and we have nice pricing, along with the usual FREE SHIPPING on 6 or more bottles (can be anything from our HUGE selection, not just this wine).

Unquestionably one of the greats from the 2012 vintage! Only 10 cases in house, ready to go!
