Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Inky purple colored, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate leaps from the glass with youthful, exuberant red and black currants notes over scents of garrigue, cedar, violets, rose hip, iron ore, dusty earth and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied, finely constructed and with bags of finesse, it sports a solid line of very fine-grained tannins and impressive earth-inspired layers, finishing with great persistence. This was tasted as a barrel sample.
95 James Suckling -
This is a layered and beautiful red with fantastic depth and richness. Full body, velvety tannins and a long and incredible finish. A wine that combines freshness and depth for the vintage. Fantastic. Drink or hold.
95 Jeb Dunnuck -
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon includes slightly less Cabernet than normal and is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Cabernet Franc. It has loads of cassis and black raspberry fruits as well as gorgeous incense, dried violets, vanilla, and flowery spice overtones. About as seamless as it gets, with full body and present yet sweet tannins, it’s a beautiful, elegant wine from this remarkable site sitting above Oakville.
94 Vinous -
Naoko Dalla Valle's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is an exotically ripe, flamboyant wine that captures the best the vintage has to offer. A rush of black cherry and plum fruit makes a bold opening statement. The 2015 was just bottled and is naturally quite primary at this stage. Readers should plan on cellaring it for at least a few years, which will allow the aromatics to open up. The Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon usually starts drinking well at around age ten. I expect that will be the case here as well.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
There is only one reason I fail to gush expansively about Dalla Valle --- I covet it all for myself. From the early 90s wines to Andy Erickson’s (yes, THAT Andy) newer ones, the wines never fail to thrill my jaded Cabernet-drinking, wine-slinging soul (I will buy ANY 90s DV that crosses my path, until I leave this mortal soul). That is one special plot of land up there in the Oakville hills! And Naoko Dalla Valle? The sweetest, most chilled-out proprietor ever! Like I said, too many reasons to keep this for myself. We did get a few extra 6-packs, so...I’ll share.

Great vintage. Huge scores. Classic property. This is like a Bordeaux Chateau that you love, say, Lynch Bages or something...and you buy the wines every year. They NEVER disappoint. NEVER. The 2015 is another THRILLING, oh-so-polished, fine and powerful, sexy beast. Read the reviews below!! 96/95/94 points!!

A handful to sell. IN STOCK. What else can I say? You KNOW this needs to be in your cellar. While it lasts..!

About the Producer

Take Oakville Crossroad east until you hit Silverado Trail and look up across the road 400 feet above you, that’s Dalla Valle. Since Gustav and Naoko Dalla Valle purchased the property in 1982 and began planting vines, this exceptional site has continually distinguished itself as the ideal site for producing some of the world’s finest wines, thanks to the perfect convergence of lingering sunlight, cooling marine influence and red volcanic soil.
