Stefan and his American wife are extreme viticulturalists, cultivating vineyards that most others would simply turn down because of all the hard work. And that hard work payed huge dividends in a vintage like 2017. To quote Stefan on the vintage: "The qualities, however, are amazing. I don't exaggerate when I say that 2017 is one of the finest vintages in 30 years for us." The Wine Advocate made an effort to point out this wine. "Of the impressive range of wines, I'd like to draw your attention to two exceptional wines from Piesport: the beautifully pure but vibrating 2017 Piesporter Treppchen Riesling "von den Terrassen" and the 2018 Piesporter Grafenberg Riesling Kabinett, a salty, fresh, tensioned and mouthwatering picture-book Kabinett.
