Ridge Lytton Springs Zinfandel Blend 2018 (Double Magnum 3L) - First Bottle

Reviews

96 Vinous -
The 2018 Lytton Springs is magnificent. Elegant, layered and so complete, the 2018 has a lot to offer, but it needs time to fully come together. Sweet red cherry, red plum, blood orange, spice, mint and rose petal open up in the glass. Bright acids and beams of tannin give the wine its vibrant energy. Readers should plan on cellaring the 2018 for at least a few years. Wow!

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
The highest-scoring Lytton Zin blend ever, a wine hailing from holy turf and 115-year old vines (!!!), a wine to cellar for decades, a wine of beauty and grace and balance such that it NEVER doesn’t satisfy, Ridge Lytton is a true American classic that should be in every serious cellar.

Sorry, but we get all dead serious about Ridge. So awesome. It’s a rich, juicy wine, to me, this year, very Zinny off the bat but quickly changes into the dark, complex, highly “alive” beast that it is. Low tannin, rich and mouthcoating. Read the glowing reviews below for more data points but grad this rare 3 Liter quick as we got just one to sell!

About the Producer

The history of Ridge Vineyards begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor who became a prominent member of San Francisco's Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge. He terraced the slopes and planted vineyards; using native limestone, he constructed the Monte Bello Winery, producing the first vintage under that name in 1892. This unique cellar, built into the mountainside on three levels, is Ridge's production facility. At 2600', it is surrounded by the upper vineyard, now referred to as the Perrone Ranch.
