Jeff Carrel Languedoc Les Darons 2016 (1.5L) - First Bottle

Reviews

91 Jeb Dunnuck -
A Grenache dominated cuvee blended with 20% Syrah and 5% Carignan, the 2016 Languedoc Rouge sports a deep ruby color to go with juicy, fruit-forward notes of berry fruits, cracked pepper, leafy herbs and wild flowers. Juicy, forward, sexy and supple, with lots of sweet fruit, it stays elegant and silky on the palate, with medium-bodied richness and nicely integrated acidity. It's a terrific value and will keep for 4-5 years.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
"Les Darons" (meaning fathers) is a wine which is representative of western Languedoc: the most southern wine region in France, based mainly on Grenache planted on clay and limestone soils. We have a simply absurd price on these 91 point juicy magnums from the utterly brilliant 2016 vintage. YES, $25 per magnum, that's not a misprint! They will not last long...we promise.

About the Producer

What does the name Jeff Carrel represent? A large range of wines, some organic, some Domaine wines and also the Jeff Carrel brand. Maison Carrel is a place where wines are matured and refined. Cuvier Carrel is a place exclusively used for preparing organics wines. Domaine d'Ansignan is a vineyard in the Pyrénées Orientales which, as the name suggests, cultivates some of the last plots of vines below the Catalans sacred mountain Le Canigou.
