Villa a Sesta Chianti Classico Riserva 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Wine Spectator -
A distinctive lavender aroma leads off, segueing into cherry, raspberry, violet and mineral flavors. Though solidly built and a bit austere now, this red shows purity and overall balance. Fine length. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best from 2022 through 2038. 5,000 cases made, 600 cases imported.
91 James Suckling -
A hearty expression of Chianti Classico with burnt red cherries, treacle tart, cedar, sandalwood and dried fruit. Quite drying and chunky on the palate, but I appreciate the richness and spicy undertones. Drink now.
90 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2015 Chianti Classico Riserva is 90% Sangiovese blended with other international grapes, which serve to increase the wine's aromatic depth. The Cabernet Sauvignon in particular makes this warm-climate Riserva more focused and detailed. It also adds to the wine's direct and linear approach. This wine spends 12 months in tonneaux.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

93 points from Wine Spectator! 2015, as you know, is a spectacular vintage for the region - powerful and rich and generous. We direct-imported this parcel and grabbed a bottle off the pallet as soon as it landed and WOW! Wildly overdelivers, to put it mildly. Warm and perfumey, with nuts and citrus and aromatic wood, absolutely a no-brainer for all-the-time drinking. Grab some --- we did!!
