Domaine Vincent Dureuil-Janthial Rully Blanc Le Meix Cadot 1er Cru 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2018 Rully 1er Cru Meix Cadot is showing beautifully, unfurling in the glass with notes of honeyed orchard fruit, orange oil, crushed mint, almond paste and freshly baked bread. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, the wine's broad and textural attack segues into a deep and layered mid-palate, girdled by lively acids, before concluding with a penetrating and mineral finish.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
We've been following young vigneron Vincent Dureuil for more many years now and he is simply the most talented grower and winemaker in the Cote Chalonaise; there is just no one doing what he does. His 2018s are excellent and he is clearly on top of his game. These wines are just too good to miss and are on par with any of the wines produced in the Cote de Nuits or Beaune in our opinion. In a recent tasting of Cote Chalonaise wines conducted by Wine Advocate, William Kelly proclaimed that, "Vincent Dureuil can make a strong claim to rank as the finest producer in the Côte Chalonnaise." He also gave this wine the 6th highest rating ever received for a wine from Rully!

About the Producer

The talents of winemaker Vincent Dureuil in Rully are such that it's easy to forget that there are others making wine in the Cote Chalonnaise. But there just is no other artist in the region that faithfully crafts Burgundy with as much purity, elegance or character as does Dureuil. Not only is Dureuil a gifted winemaker, but also he is blessed with some exemplary older-vine vineyards that for years have been cared for organically - a higher level of attention that sets Dureuil qualitatively apart from the pack. His delicate touch translates each individual terroir into a perfect liquid picture of what the best of Rully - and the best of Burgundy, for that matter - can be.
