PharaohMoans Syrah Paso Robles 2018 - First Bottle

Reviews

98 Jeb Dunnuck -
Lots of spiced plums, orange blossom, spring flowers, peach (I'd swear there was Viognier in this blend) and peppery notes emerge from the 2018 Syrah. An exotic, full-bodied, seamless Syrah with ripe yet present tannins, no hard edges, and a great, great finish, it's truly brilliant and the finest I've tasted from this estate. All Syrah from a mix of sites on the westside of Paso Robles, brought up in 60% new oak, it's going to keep for 10-15 years.

PharaohMoans Syrah Paso Robles 2018

Syrah Blends  |  US

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

From those artisans at Amuse Bouche comes one of the highest-rated Paso Robles Syrahs of the vintage -- 98 points! "...it's truly brilliant and the finest I've tasted from this estate." - Jeb Dunnuck.

John Schwartz, who also works with Heidi Barrett on his Napa Valley projects, has made among the highest-scoring, lushest, most amazing Syrahs in California in 2018. John sought out one of the top winemakers in California, Guillaume Fabre, for this project. Get it - we have just a few cases! What a package, too! Will look amazing in the cellar!

Guillaume Fabre, who worked with Michel Rolland in his native France, has made his presence known in Paso Robles with his own wines, Clos Solene, and his work at L'Aventure. He has received too many 95-100 point scores to count over the years. In Jeb Dunnuck's recent Paso report, PharaohMoans was only outscored by the likes of Booker, Saxum, L'Aventure and Turtle Rock! Good company indeed! The 2018 PharaohMoans Syrah is just an unadulterated beauty from the marine influenced, limestone hills of western Paso Robles.

Get ready to be blown away! First come, first served!

About the Producer

"We have produced only 350 cases of our Rhone-style wine, which is aging gracefully in a combination of Tarransaud, Saury and L'Ermite French oak. Our vineyards are located in the West Paso Robles appellation whose sloping hills are broadly exposed to the Pacific ocean climatic influences. "We" are John Schwartz, owner of Amuse Bouche Winery in Napa Valley, and Chef Bryan Ogden, recipient of the James Beard Award for best restaurant 2003. With our combined 35 years in the wine and food industry, we have teamed up with winemaker Guillaume Fabre. The mutual objective was to create the best Syrah in California under the Paso Robles appellation. We have spared no expense, from farming to the bottle, to bring you a truly remarkable wine."
