The 2016 Graacher Himmelreich Sp?tlese (AP 08 17) is discreet and smoky on the deep, well-defined nose. Juicy-piquant and salty on the well-structured and refreshingly mineral palate, the Himmelreich is tight and expressive, with the sweetness superbly balanced by the spicy, grippy phenols/minerals. This is a really complex Sp?tlese that is highly stimulating today and will still be so in 20 or 30 years.

Juicy but super elegant and refined with great mineral freshness, making this an extremely attractive wine. And yes, this has some sweetness but you'd hardly think so. Where are those spicy prawns? Drink or hold.

Riesling | Germany
WA95, JS94
Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
Can you say massive no-brainer? 95-point JJ at $23??? What a rockstar wine (and deal), as always, seriously, does JJ need anything more to say? This is a “case-worthy” steal, to put it mildly (!), if we ever had one. Will go in a flash…
About the Producer
Since 1156 the Prums have called the village of Wehlen home. The Pr?m estate as we know it today began with Sebastian Alois Prum (1794-1871); his brother Jodocus constructed the Wehlener and Zeltinger sundials. Of his six sons only Mathias (1835-1890) married. In 1911 the estate was split amongst Mathias' four sons and three daughters. It was when his oldest son, Joh. Jos. Prum, started the estate and his son who really propelled the estate into international stardom. It?s most important vineyard holdings are the Wehlener Sonnenuhr, Graacher Himmelreich, Zeltinger Sonnenuhr and Bernkasteler Badstube. Today, J.J. Prum stands as one of the most revered producers of Riesling in the world.
