Rudius Red Bedrock 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

93 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2012 Mourvedre Bedrock Vineyard is old-vine Mourvedre from Morgan Peterson's home vineyard in Sonoma. It is Mediterranean in style with notes of lavender, raspberry, blueberry, roasted Provencal herbs and loamy soil undertones. The wine is rich, medium to full-bodied, already meaty, complex and spicy. It was aged in neutral oak prior to being bottled unfiltered.

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!
How cool is this? A library release of Mourvedre from the incredibly old Bedrock vineyard in Sonoma Valley (planted in the late 1800s!). Savory, spicy and oh so drinkable at this stage. 93 points and 35 bucks! No-brainer for sure.

About the Producer

Rudius was started in 2005 by Jeff Ames, who’s worked with the likes of Lynn Penner Ash and Thomas Rivers Brown and currently is the winemaker for Tor. In 2008 he was joined by Brittany Coy who became a partner. Today the wines are better than ever producing wines of purity, focus and site specificity working with incredible vineyard sites like Panek in St. Helena, Tierra Roja in eastern Oakville, Bedrock in Sonoma Valley, Farella in Coombsville and Hudson in Carneros.
