Tassi Brunello di Montalcino Franci 2012 - First Bottle

Reviews

94 Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate -
Compared to Tassi`s annata wine, the 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Franci shows more precision and definition. The intensity of those dark fruit aromas is about the same with plum, black cherry and cassis, but the contours here are sharper and show a greater degree of focus and brilliance. You also notice the oak aging more in this Brunello thanks to savory notes of smoke, allspice and cured leather.
93 James Suckling -
A delicious red with a very fine linear structure of ripe and polished tannins, dried mushrooms and ripe-fruit character. Hints of minerals. Medium body, integrated fruit and lovely acidity. Drink now or hold.

About the Producer

Yes, the Tassi family has a long history of making their own wine, but anyone who’s spent time in the little town of Montalcino also knows the family as owners of a legendary wine shop, the renowned Enoteca la Fortezza. This wine shop is located inside the walls of an ancient fortress perched atop a hill with spectacular 360 degree views of Montalcino. The wines of Fabio Tassi are legit and should be on the short list of any Brunello enthusiast.
