Remoissenet Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

95+ Vinous -
One of the highlights in this range, the 2015 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is super-expressive. Readers should plan on giving the 2015 at least a few years to shed some of its considerable baby fat. Today, the dark cherry/plum fruit is nicely pushed forward, while there is little in the way of aromatic development. This is decidedly a virile dense expression of Clos Vougeot, and yet all the elements are very nicely balanced. The 2015 is a total knock-out from Remoissenet.
95 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
(93-95) The 2015 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from a 0.5-hectare parcel close to the south wall next to Liger-Belair, Rion, Lemarie and Lamarche. It has a very pure and sensual bouquet with dark cherries, crushed strawbery and hints of cassis all with very fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with silky smooth tannins, great depth and body with a gentle grip on the finish. This is a Clos Vougeot from the top drawer.

About the Producer

Remoissenet Pere et Fils is a reference point for refined Burgundy wines. This ancient estate, connected by mortar and stone to the medieval walls of Beaune, is for serious collectors linked by vine and bottle to Burgundy's hallowed past and its exciting future. Yet among these bottled memories are barrels of stories to come: older vines tended according to biodynamic methods, unique terroirs selected with the utmost care and in micro-quantities. In 2005, Remoissenet started the next chapter in its generations-long history. With new owners and renewed leadership under Pierre-Antoine Rovani (formerly of the Wine Advocate) and Bernard Repolt (Maison Louis Jadot), the winery has reached new heights.
