Monteverro Tuscany 2013 - First Bottle

Reviews

97 James Suckling -
This is a Bordeaux blend that competes with the best of Tuscany such as Sassiciaia and Ornellaia. It's so structured and refined with beautiful length and sophistication. Full body and gorgeous tension. Fantastic aromas and flavors of currants, plums and tile. Hints of hazelnuts and lavender. Linear and polished on the finish. A wine that delivers so much now but will be even better in four to five years. Best ever from here. From organically grown grapes.

97 points! "Competing with the best of Tuscan such as Sassicaia and Ornellia" is no small praise!! Since those wines cost at least double this one, we think that merits a couple for the cellar right now!

About the Producer

In southern Tuscany, at the foot of the picturesque village of Capalbio, lies Monteverro. This is a region renowned for its authenticity and tradition and is characterized by its proximity to the sea, a love of life and a passion for art, as well as by hard agricultural toil. In this picturesque portion of the Maremma, Monteverro has quickly been catapulted on the international stage with names like Ornellaia and Sassicaia. This is not only thanks to their great exposure, our amazing slopes, the sea breeze and the red clay soils with large rocks, but of course to the people that make Monteverro so unique. Winemaker Jean Hoefliger carefully crafts these wines and the results are nothing short of extraordinary.
