Domaine de la Milliere Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Vieilles Vignes 2015 (Double Magnum 3L) - First Bottle

Reviews

90-92 Vinous -
Bright ruby-red. An assertively perfumed bouquet evokes ripe red and blue fruits and shows subtle background notes of peppery spices and lavender. Plush and expansive on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, boysenberry and floral pastille flavors lifted by zesty acidity. The floral and spice notes drive a long, gently tannic finish that features a subtle touch of allspice.
89-92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
The 2015 Chateauneuf de Pape Vieilles Vignes is a meaty, peppery, olive and dark fruit-driven effort that has a medium to full-bodied richness and a classic, old-school vibe.

What were you doing 100 years ago? Well, Milliere was planting grapes, the very same you will have as soon as you pop the cork. Big, brawny, blue/black style. BIG! Bold! Great price, too!

About the Producer

It was in the 1940's that Fernand Arnaud bought La Milliere. At that time on the estate, vineyards were side by side with fruit orchards. At the age of 14, Aime, Fernand's son, decided to devote his life to vines and wine. Over time, Aime, aided by his father's advice, transformed La Milliere, making the estate fully dedicated to growing grapes. For him, his vocation was laid out: he would be a grower and winemaker. Michel, Aime's son, took over La Milliere in 1983, making him the 5th generation of Arnaud vinegrower-winemakers. Since then, Michel has continued to apply the knowledge handed down to him by his parents and grandparents. In his footsteps comes Vincent, his eldest son, who has just joined the estate. He continues the family history that has been at the heart of La Milliere for many decades.
