Chateau de la Negly Languedoc Clos des Truffieres 2015 - First Bottle

Reviews

96-99 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate -
Similar in style to the 2011, the 2015 Languedoc Clos des Truffieres is as always 100% Syrah from a vineyard near Pezenas. Scheduled to be bottled in February or March of 2017, it has sensational notes of blackcurrants, cassis, lead pencil and graphite, with more obvious structure and minerality than the Porte du Ciel. It’s a gorgeous wine that should unquestionably be one of the wines of the vintage.
97-99 Jeb Dunnuck -
Schedule to be bottled shortly after this tasting, the 2015 Clos Des Truffiers will unquestionably be one of the top 1-2 wines in the vintage from the region, if not the entire southern part of France. White truffles, olive tapenade, cured meats, and a huge core of sweet fruit flow to a full-bodied, concentrated, yet elegant, silky version of this cuvée. It's showing even more elegance than I remember from when I tasted it last year, and is going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for two decades.

Chateau de la Negly Languedoc Clos des Truffieres 2015

Rhone Blend  |  France

Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

This wine is practically MYTHICAL! A pedal-to-the-metal thrill ride, we have exactly 80 bottles, direct from France. These are region-defining powerhouses that have helped put this area of France on the map for connoisseurs across the globe! First come, first served!

This is one of those wines that we jealously guard, and often we get so little we just buy it ourselves (perk of the biz, right??). Negly is a blockbuster, a “tour de force”-type Parker darling, and it is NOT for the shy. It IS for those who love the Sine Qua Non, Saxum and Guigal La La’s styles -- rollicking, unabashedly powerful, sexy, wildly complex Syrah-based beasts.

OK, for all that, the wines are POLISHED as heck, while being lavish and generous. Anyway, miraculously, we got a bit more than usual, so grab it before it goes away -- FREE SHIPPING on 6+ as always!

About the Producer

The Chateau de la Negly is located in the Languedoc, overlooking the Mediterranean, in the exceptional terroir of La Clape. They original Negly vineyard spanned 123 acres on clay limestone soils which gives Negly its signature palate impact and broad shoulders. In 2006 they acquired the neighboring 62 acres on alluvial sand and sandstone soils which was replanted and now is farmed sustainably and by hand. Consultant Claude Gros has further refined the work in the cellar it's not a mystery why La Negly is the top of the class in Southern France.
