Too late, we are SOLD OUT!

Hey, LISTEN, if you love the style of Hanzell, Mayacamas, Stony Hill, etc --- this is your wine. Trust your long-suffering wine merchant! Best price, too -- $65 at the winery!

Steeped in tradition and marching to their own beat since the 50s, School House is a serious “insider” wine here in the Valley. They make very little wine, sell it mainly to their mailing list and to local restaurants, but every geeky wine person I know hoards it! It’s tiny production and is made up at Pride Mountain (Bob Foley forever and now Sally Johnson) although we call it more old-school in style (as noted, Hanzell, Stony Hill, etc). It's 100% estate and 100% old-Wente, (from Stony Hill no less) and raised in neutral French barrels. EXTREMELY ageable (the pinots, too), this 2012 is fresh and clean, with a little unctuousness from some bottle time, and just PERFECT right now.

Really -- this is such a rarity -- all you serious wine guys and gals out there need to grab a few of these at this fantastic price!! Only a few cases to sell and IN STOCK!

About the Producer

School House takes its name from the 1880's one-room school house that once graced the property until it burned down in the 1980's. In 1940 they purchased 35 acres of dry farmed vineyards which was one of the only few planted vineyards on Spring Mountain at the time. School House produces some of the grooviest wines in Napa, from old-vine field blends to Pinot Noir (Romanee Conti cuttings) and Chardonnay (old-Wente selection). They are steeped in tradition and marching to the beat of their own drum since the mid-1950's. Our kind of spot!
