The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru offers all of the intensity that is typical of Callot's Champagnes, but in a slightly more accessible style that can be enjoyed upon release. Ample and powerful, with tons of staying power, the Blanc de Blancs shows plenty of Avize muscle, with a vertical spine of structure to back things up. The dosage feels just a bit high, but that is a small quibble here. Disgorged: February 2017. Dosage is 8 grams per liter.

About the Producer
The history started in 1784 when Louis Callot was born in Avize and six generations have been farming vineyards there since. In 1955 Pierre Callot decided to bottle his own wine from his best plots in Avize, Cramant and Chouilly. Pierre purchased the old Piper Heidsieck house and vineyard buildings in 1971 when he began to run out of space and the rest is history. Today Pierre’s youngest son Thierry is carrying on his legacy and running the family business.
