Sancerre continues to be one of the trickiest wines to get our hands on and keep stocked – it’s in such limited production and is in such high demand worldwide. We’re thrilled to have found this organic, biodynamic, fruit-forward vision for over 30% off...the only question is, how long will it last?!

We sincerely believe Sancerre may be the hottest wine region in the world at the moment. It’s nearly impossible to keep on our shelves, and in the last decade alone, these Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc wines have become increasingly more difficult to find. As such, prices have begun to skyrocket, keeping up with the likes of Premier Cru White Burgundy, and its desirability has only climbed higher alongside its price sticker. So, you might imagine that when we CAN get our hands on hyper-fresh, organic, dutifully crafted Sancerre for under $30...we do whatever it takes to get as much as we possibly can!!

La Haubette has been run by the same family for generations, remaining committed to traditional winemaking styles while prioritizing the land and vine health with organic and biodynamic viticulture practices. Their wines are celebrated for the quality – showcasing the ultimate crispness, aromas, and acidic qualities, a perfect trifecta when it comes to Sancerre Blanc. This 2022 comes from grapes planted in limestone-based soils on southern-facing slopes, and ferments with natural yeasts for the ultimate expression of fruit that’s both mouthwateringly round and refreshingly crisp. No scores yet on this beauty, but with the success of the “very good quality” 2022 growing season in Sancerre...we expect at least a 93, and maybe higher! For under $30 – that’s a steal for top-notch Sancerre – and you’ll be blown away by the texture, the brightness, and the depth of flavor found here!!

This is a layered, complex, and elegant expression of Sauvignon Blanc – crisp and bright, but also round and creamy. Floral and round fruit aromas of ripe honeysuckle, Anjou pear, pineapple, white peach, and Meyer lemon accentuate the chalky minerality, punctuated by notes of wet stone and citrusy acidity. Accents of Tahitian vanilla and cardamom give a soft spiciness to the finish, making for an elegant and velvety Sauvignon Blanc that will bring a smile to any white wine lover’s face. A simply fantastic white and a next-level find...for as long as we have it, at least!
